The effect of increasing amounts of dietary red palm oil on milk fat secretion in the cow.

چکیده
I . The effects, on the secretion in milk of fat and its component fatty acids, of supplementing a basal diet low in fat with red palm oil at three levels are reported. 2. The secretion of total fat and of the fatty acids contained in the oil supplement was positively correlated with the dietary intakes, except for linoleic acid which was hydrogenated in the rumen before its absorption and secretion in milk. 3. Evidence for the synthesis de now0 of palmitic acid and for the possible depression of intramammary de nwo synthesis by high levels of dietary fat is discussed.

Effects of dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids on ovarian function and prostaglandin secretion in lactating dairy cows
As lactating cows in severe negative energy balance have poor reproductive performance, the effect of dietary fat supplementation (fish oil, soybean oil) on PGFM secretion, ovarian function and blood metabolites is investigated. In this experiment, the effects of dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids on plasma metabolites, ovarian function and prostaglandin secretion of 20 primiparous Holstein co...
متن کاملBlending of Milkfat with Refined Palm Oil and its Fractions: Impact on Physicochemical Properties and Fatty Acid Profile
Milkfat has the highest price among all the edible oils and fats and plays a significant role in the economics, nutrition and physicochemical properties of milk and milk products. It can be admixed or replaced with less expensive oils and fats of vegetable or animal origins notably palm oils. Blending of edible fat with vegetable oils is a common practice in many countries to improve the physic...
متن کاملEffect of replacing calcium salts of palm oil distillate with rapeseed oil, milled or whole rapeseeds on milk fatty-acid composition in cows fed maize silage-based diets.
Inclusion of rapeseed feeds in dairy cow diets has the potential to reduce milk fat saturated fatty acid (SFA) and increase cis-monounsaturated fatty acid (cis-MUFA) content, but effectiveness may depend on the form in which the rapeseed is presented. Four mid-lactation Holstein dairy cows were allocated to four maize silage-based dietary treatments according to a 4 × 4 Latin Square design, wit...
متن کاملThe effects of corn silage particles size and fat supplement on feed intake, digestibility, ruminal function, chewing activity, and performance in mid-lactating Holstein dairy cows
An experiment was carried out to determine the effect of corn silage particle size and fat supplements on performance, solid passage rate through the digestive tract, and chewing behavior in dairy cows. The forages were coarse or fine corn silage with geometric means of 8.8±2.7 and 5.6±2.8 mm, and alfalfa with geometrics means of 7.0±3.3 mm, and fat supplements were neutral fat (palm) and soy-o...

An experiment was conducted in early lactating buffaloes for the period of 3 months in Jadakheria and Polisimal village of LimkhedaTaluka in Dahod district of Gujarat to assess the effect of supplementation of bypass fat on milk production, composition, body weight change and economic efficiency. Forty buffaloes in their 2nd and 3rd lactation were equally divided in completely randomized design...
